#1 - I had the idea of adding 3 tail/tentacle-like things to the creature.
#2 - Thought it would be interesting to take away his arms and have him use a sort of forked-tail as his arms instead. Also gave him longer legs for sprinting.
#3 - A more refined version of the original concept where he walks on his knuckles and 4 legs.
Update:
Ok everyone, here's a more finalized draft of #2. I tried giving him a new head but it wasn't looking as good as the head from #3, sooo I had to do a head transplant. I'll make a color version later.
i def like the 3rd head and arms, but i like the body of 1. The 4 legs plus knuckles way of movement seems very awkward. i'm tryin to visualize it walking and it seems too weird.

ReplyDeleteI like 2 the most. It looks like a devious creature. Like if you get too close it can mess you up. Definitely, look like something you'd see on the silver screen.
ReplyDeleteOk #1 reminds me of some kind of evolved pokemon, maybe it's the body. Now #2 has this kinda cuteness to it, which I don't like and like Jared said I can't see how that whole tail thing will work as well. Number 3 I really like the head but the body doesn't seem to fit, but the hands are awesome. I don't know which one I like so keep drawing sir.

ReplyDelete#3 is scrapped. Besides the head, it's not giving me the look and feel I really wanted the creature to have. I like the arms too, but no.
#1 also scrapped because I'd have to add maybe 2 more tentacles for the creature to work the way I really want it too, and I want to stay away from too many tentacles for right now... so no.
#2 is probably the one I'm going to go with.

Why'd you take away the head spikeys, I like those :-D Overall I like where you're going with the design, the tail is my favorite part.

ReplyDeleteThey did look cool and I was trying to keep them, but 1) they just weren't practical for the creature as is, 2) it looked like overkill with the long teeth and spiked spine, so I scrapped them.
