AE86 part 2

Quick update. Modeling is pretty much done. Here's a test render of what's done so far. Next up is some UV layout so I can put the textures on the lights and other parts.

Changed the HDRI and some of the materials. I also stretched the tires and lowered the car a lot more. Note: The shot of the lights in the box is a photo reference. I've almost got it, but it still needs more tweeking.

AE86 part 1

Hello internet land. The S15 is on a go slow since I've mostly been adding and correcting little details all over it. The file has been getting pretty heavy too with suspension and all sorts of stuff. Anyways, it's still coming along but there's not much of it that I want to show at the moment. :) Stay tuned!

Project AE86
Sooo I wanted to do a sort of a personal challenge. So I picked a Toyota Trueno AE86 as the subject. I've been working on the AE86 for a few days now.

I managed to knock out the basic shape in just 2 nights (roughly one day's worth of work).

So far I've been working on the car for about a week. Just did a test render of the tires last night. Real texturing will follow once the modeling is done.

Going to UV unwrap everything and try my hand at some decent texturing once I'm happy with all the exterior details.

I need to get some more done on the S15 too, so I'm off once again.

I can has updates!

Hey all! I've been sort of tied up. First of all, the creature contest was sort of cancelled. I'm still going to push ahead and keep working on my creature. I actually decided to start the base mesh from scratch since the contest was a bust anyways... and I really disliked the base mesh I previously made.

Secondly, I've been trying to squeeze in some work on this Silvia S15 between work and stuff. Here's what's up with that: I went ahead and made some wheels for it - two sets of 19"s and one set of 18"s. Also started on the interior. Was a pain in the rear finding reference pictures of a gutted S15 shell - going this route because I want it to have a race car interior. Next in line is the roll cage, dashboard and bucket seats.

And I've started a wide body version (I couldn't resist the temptation). Well, that's all for now.

Creature WIP v1

Ok everyone in intarweb land, here's a quick screen cap of the base mesh for my creature.

Having a little trouble with the twin tail thing. Because of the time limit, I might just model this thing in pose for the contest, and do a second version with the tail straightened out for rigging purposes later.

Creature concepts v2

I scrapped the others and decided to proceed with the 4th concept. Here's what I have so far:

#1 - I had the idea of adding 3 tail/tentacle-like things to the creature.
#2 - Thought it would be interesting to take away his arms and have him use a sort of forked-tail as his arms instead. Also gave him longer legs for sprinting.
#3 - A more refined version of the original concept where he walks on his knuckles and 4 legs.


Ok everyone, here's a more finalized draft of #2. I tried giving him a new head but it wasn't looking as good as the head from #3, sooo I had to do a head transplant. I'll make a color version later.

Creature concepts

Ok, doing a little creature challenge amongst friends. Here are some of my concepts. They're ummm... a little rough 'cause I drew them with a track ball mouse in Photoshop. :P

I'm leaning towards 4 and 5 so I've started refining those concepts a bit more.
